I’ve lived and worked in four countries and began writing five years ago. I never dreamt of writing a book, let alone seeing one published, but reflecting on an essay thrown back at me by an English teacher in high school – a classic case of ‘You can do better! – I can detect the seed of a desire to produce something that others might enjoy.
My first book came out in 2016 and I’ve several more in the pipeline which combine my desire to encourage believers and equip leaders. That combination stems from my own journey serving in three churches in three countries as a youth pastor, and then as a general pastor. Prior to that I worked in the hospitality industry and the public sector.
I’m married, live in Scotland and one of our grown up children (here I am doing the father of the bride speech) is expecting her first child and our first grandchild. I rarely miss ‘Match of the Day’ (weekly British football/soccer highlights) but growing up I was addicted to golf. I never won anything significant but my one claim to fame is getting two holes-in-one over the space of a single weekend when I was 17 years old. I have a Bachelors degree in Public Administration, and a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Denver Theological Seminary, Colorado, U.S.A.
